Day 3

Day 3: The miracle of the morning was “Chef” K’s poha  - so fluffy even Insta influencers would approve. This culinary masterpiece was paired with adrak chai by your’s truly , sipped with all the gravitas of mountain monarchs. The elusive hot water made a guest appearance, though in a classic twist, K was left shivering while the geyser played favourites.

Fueled by breakfast, and an AM production of “Who Gets the Shower First”, we braved the spiritual heights of Dirang Monastery

and then set our sights on Sangti Valley. Here, epic scenery was occasionally upstaged by allergies  - shoutout to Vaidy's nose and swollen face for its relentless drama. S got an opportunity to showcase/show off  the camera of the 1+ new mobile and also the newly acquired DJi osmo pocket 3camera making it’s maiden outing. We did have some fun moments with that gadget.

Next stop: Chug Valley. After assembling a local guide (who accurately spotted our group as “those typical unpredictable tourists”), we toured memorials, spied on traditional paper-making, observed the mysterious wine-brewing alchemy, and admired ancient monasteries with an air of “have seen, will see more.” Lunch was a cross-continental riot - Theplas, chundo, and Jain Pav Bhaji Khakra fuelling our mini trek to the local museum and raising the bar for global snacking.

A “blink-and-miss” visit to the famous hot springs (change room anxiety: level pro ), then back to Nima’s Home Stay, where evening tea and Madras Mixture awaited. Dinner? Spicy Rasam Rice and the one true constant - roasted papad. Wild, culinary, and delightfully unpredictable, Day 3 went straight to the highlight reel.

  1. Waah - the humour, the travelogue-style drama, and the way you turn everyday moments into cinematic highlights is simply brilliant. Your writing makes me feel I was right there with the “unpredictable tourists”, savouring the poha, battling the allergies and conquering valleys with royal swagger.
